Thomas in the Gospel would not believe until he touched Jesus. Thomas cut himself off from the group and in the process he lost faith. Isn't this true of so many people, they stop going to Mass and then suddenly they no longer feel the need for Mass or God. Use it or lose it.

When we resort to violence, we show that we no longer know anything about God, who is our Father, or even about others, who are our brothers and sisters. We lose sight of why we are in the world and even end up committing senseless acts of cruelty.
